As the weekend is upon us, many of us see pizzas, desserts and fast food in our future. While we are all for that ice cream sundae, every once in a while it is nice to know that there is a healthy (and almost as satisfying?) substitution for our favorite comfort food.

Our friends at Medifast have provided us with this helpful chart that will make it easier to pick the healthy option. But, of course, we always approve of that occasional midnight snack :)

Food: What to Bring to Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner and you've probably been greeted with a few party invitations, each with their own "bring an appetizer" request. Follow our guide to create the perfect cheese platter, or personalize with your favorite party snacks.


Gluten-Free Spinach Dip-Stuffed Baguette

1 Gluten-Free Baguette

1 Trader Joe's Spinach Sour Cream Dip

1 Knife

1 Spoon

1. Cut the baguette into four even sections

2. Use the knife to neatly carve out the middle sections and set aside scraps

3. Use spoon to lightly press down on and hole out the center of each baguette section, clearing a space for the dip

4. Spoon dip into each section - make sure it is packed in well

5. Use knife to neatly slice bread into half-inch sections

6. neatly arrange on platter and refrigerate until served




Food: Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with this Classic Margarita

It isn't Cinco de Mayo without a margarita, so when Refinery29 posted their list of 5 margarita game-changers, they of course, all needed a little taste testing ;). 

Follow the recipe to create your own Clasico Margarita, or dig into one of these exotic twists on the classic party drink.

Clásico Margarita

Serves: 1

Supplies & Ingredients

Rocks glass

Pint glass

Shaker with strainer

Half of a grapefruit

Star anise salt


1 oz fresh lime juice

Lime wedge

Dash of fresh orange juice

1 oz orange liqueur

2 oz blanco tequila


1. Wet rim of rocks glass with grapefruit. Salt half the rim with star anise salt. Add ice and set aside.

2. In a pint glass, mix lime juice, orange juice, orange liqueur, and ice. Cover with shaker and shake well.

3. Strain and pour mixed drink into rocks glass. Garnish with lime wedge.
